Community crime alert from MPD PSA 606

COMMUNITY CRIME ALERT FROM PSA 606

Recently we had a ROBBERY in the Fairfax Village neighborhood. This robbery occurred on Tuesday 2/22/2011 at 12:25PM in the 3800 block of V St . , SE .

The complainant was approached by a suspect from the front with his right hand in his pocket and stated “M’AM I DON’T WANT TO SHOOT YOU, SO GIVE ME YOUR PURSE”. The complainant complied and threw her purse at suspect, at which time the suspect ran eastbound on V St., SE towards the complainant’s vehicle. The suspect entered the complainant’s vehicle, looking for the keys; however he did not find the keys and fled the scene westbound on V St., SE

Suspect is described as: Black Male, 18-25 years old, 5’7”-5’8”, 130-150 lbs., dark complexion, average build wearing a black and gray scarf covering his head and face, gray pants and an army green jacket, suspect threatened to be armed with a handgun.

Should you see an individual matching this description immediately call 9-1-1 and advise that you see an individual matching the description of the above listed robbery suspect.


As part of our SEE SOMETHING-SAY SOMETHING campaign, The Sixth Police District Patrol Service Area (PSA) 606 urges our residents and visitors to increase your awareness of persons and vehicles around you.

Should you see any individuals acting in a suspicious manner, immediately call 9-1-1 and report your (1) LOCATION, (2) ACTIONS that made you suspicious, and (3) clothing DESCRIPTIONS of these individual(s).

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU TAKE ANY ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS ON YOUR OWN.

The Sixth Police District and PSA 606 also request that while at home, turn on all outside lights in both the front and back of your home after 5 PM to illuminate your home and to cast additional light sources toward our sidewalks and roadways.
