Wednesday Stew: What's Cooking

OPEN ITEMS
Fairfax Village Shopping Center - The saga of FVSC still drags on. The property manager assured Councilmember Alexander's staff they would keep the property clean; however, there is still trash. The hedges still are not cut and the lighting in still bad. Stay tuned, people. We may have to resort to blowing up some email inboxes.

Street Repair - Still no repairs to the 2000 block of Fort Davis Street and the 3800 block of W Street SE. The petitions for speed humps on the 2000 block of Fort Davis St and 3800 block of W Street SE are circulating around the block to replace the petitions that DDOT lost.

3970 Pennsylvania Ave SE - No update. The building is still an eye sore.

Public-Private Partnership Possible - The Community Association is open to discussing the opportunity to engage in a public private partnership. Miss V is going to set up an initial meeting between all parties.

CLOSED ITEMS
None at this time.

  1. I need to sign the petition. Saw the markings on the street and was wondering when they would be finished. Me and my puppy were almost mowed down by someone cutting through V street onto Fort Davis on Monday...tired of it!

  2. Ms Gladys who lives in the 2000 block of Fort Davis is taking the lead on getting signatures. She's normally outside in the evening collecting signatures.

I've almost been taken out a few times and every single time the car had MD plates.
