Read Out in Marvin Gaye Park

To reclaim Marvin Gaye Park from its stigma as a crime and drug haven, come out and support The READ OUT.

The READ OUT is inspired by The National Endowment of the Arts' The Big Read, which is an annual event to encourage Americans to read and discuss one book. The READ OUT is developed to support that mission and to support the community around Marvin Gaye Park. The READ OUT will be every Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the tranquility of Marvin Gaye Park.

On July 27th, there will be a discussion on A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest Gaine.
On August 4th, there will be a showing of the HBO presentation of A Lesson Before Dying staring Don Cheadle in the park at dusk.

Sponsored by Liberated Muse Productions, Mahoghanybooks.com, and Washington Parks and People.

Find them on Facebook.
